As we continue to grow, we are looking for a hands-on Technical Operations Manager to lead the technical and operational aspects of our manufacturing process.

The Technical Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality and supervising the technical team. You will be responsible for overseeing production operations, troubleshooting technical challenges, improving process efficiency, and ensuring that our operations meet industry standards and client expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring efficient use of personnel, equipment, and materials.
    • Plan, prioritize, and manage production schedules to meet delivery timelines and quality standards.
  • Technical Oversight:
    • Supervise the implementation of technical processes, tools, and machinery to ensure high-quality output.
    • Troubleshoot technical challenges in manufacturing processes and design improvement strategies.
    • Collaborate with the engineering/design team on product development and manufacturability.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Evaluate and improve production workflows, processes, and assembly methods to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to optimize operations and reduce costs.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and train a small technical and operational team to ensure optimal performance.
    • Build a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Maintain compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality controls.
    • Ensure products meet customer requirements through rigorous quality checks and inspections.
  • Inventory & Resource Management:
    • Oversee inventory control, procurement, and supply chain processes to ensure adequate materials for production.
    • Manage the maintenance and calibration of equipment to prevent downtime.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production yield, quality metrics, and lead times.
    • Provide regular operational reports and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills


The chosen candidate should be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree (or have equivalent experience) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related fields, and should also have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in electronics production.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes, such as PCB assembly, testing, soldering, and SMT (surface-mount technologies).
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills with experience managing small teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues and implement process improvements.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

The following attributes will be considered as an asset:

  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with small batch/custom manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, small business environment.
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
